Dr. Peiffer is proud to assume the position of the Superintendent for the Greensburg Salem School District.  He is looking forward to working with the Greensburg Salem School Board and the communities of Greensburg, South Greensburg Borough, Southwest Greensburg Borough, and Salem Township to build upon the successes of the District while working with stakeholders to develop rigorous and challenging programs to meet the college and career needs for all the students. 

Dr. Peiffer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from the Pennsylvania State University in 1988 and taught social studies at the Carson Valley School in Flourtown, Pennsylvania from 1990-1997.  Earning a Master of Education and principal certification from Temple University in 1996, he was hired as an assistant principal at the East Allegheny School District in 1997. Over the next 15 years at East Allegheny, Dr. Peiffer served as the assistant principal at the junior/senior high school, the high school principal, the director of federal programs, curriculum coordinator and assistant to the superintendent.  Since 2012, he has been the superintendent of the Carlynton School District and earned his Doctorate of Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015.   During that time, Dr. Peiffer also served as the Superintendent of Record for the Parkway West Career and Technology Center. 

Dr. Peiffer has been married to his wife Emilia for twenty years and they have a vibrant and athletic teenage daughter of whom they are very proud.  In his spare time, he enjoys travelling to the National Parks, hiking, history, reading and spending time with his family.
