With an enrollment of 2,583 students, the Greensburg Salem School District is located 35 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the City of Greensburg, Westmoreland County. The district covers an area of 51 square miles that include urban, suburban and rural populations. Students live in the City of Greensburg, Salem Township and the boroughs of South Greensburg and Southwest Greensburg for a total population of 25,426 residents (based on 2020 Census Data).
The Greensburg Salem school board, staff, and community work together to provide high quality education extending beyond the walls of the school. The belief that "effort creates ability" has led to a challenging curriculum and helped to make Greensburg Salem students among the most academically competitive in the county. This is evidenced by the fact that for the past several years there have been consistent improvements in the SAT and PSSA scores, with district students scoring well above state averages.

Greensburg Salem envisions a future where all graduates are prepared as pillar citizens and human beings prepared with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for serving their local and global communities for personal, social, economic, and environmental stability and growth.
