School Volunteers

If you are looking to volunteer within our district, carefully read the Pennsylvania legislative requirements for all adults volunteering with children.  While you must now obtain both the Act 34 (PA Criminal History) and Act 151 (Child Abuse History) clearances, the state is waiving the cost.

In addition, a federal criminal history clearance (FBI/Fingerprinting) is required ONLY if you have lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.  Volunteers who have been a continuous resident of PA for the past 10 years must swear or affirm in writing of their residency and that they have not been convicted of an offense.  Print and complete the FBI/Fingerprinting Waiver at the bottom of this page if you have been a continuous PA resident for the past 10 years.

Another feature of this legislation is that, beginning July 1, 2015, all volunteers are required to obtain clearances every sixty (60) months or 5 Years.

It is the responsibility of the volunteers to monitor the dates of expiration and to supply updated clearances as needed.  However, the school building will track the expiration date, and you will not be able to volunteer if your clearance(s) has expired.
