Kindergarten Registration
2026-2027 Kindergarten Registration
All students who reside within the Greensburg Salem School District and will be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2026 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten.
Required Documents:
Parents/Guardians must provide the following:
- Two forms of proof of residency (current utility bill, photo ID, mortgage/lease documents, etc. Please NO screenshots of envelopes).
- Immunizations/Physical Records verified by a doctor's signature
- Original birth certificate

To help students and families transition to kindergarten, the District hosts the Little Lions P.A.W.S. Program (Parents Are Welcome in School). Please join our Kindergarten teachers for an hour of fun parent and child learning activities designed to help your little one transition into Kindergarten. Please pass this information along to other families who may be interested in participating in our PAWS Program for incoming Kindergartners!
PARENTS ARE WELCOME IN SCHOOL (PAWS)
Greensburg Salem School District is looking forward to the upcoming Kindergarten Registration for children who will be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2026. We would like to help your child start early with preparing for the transition to Kindergarten. Each elementary school provides Parents Are Welcome in Schools (PAWS) Workshops. T
he workshops help you prepare your child for getting ready for the upcoming entrance into Kindergarten. Many helpful teaching and learning strategies are offered to parents and their children. Children benefit by getting a head start on experiencing the dynamics of the Kindergarten skills that are needed to be successful. The PAWS workshops are an enjoyable learning time for both parents, children, and teachers. Each elementary school will host their own PAWS program with their incoming Kindergarten students. The PAWS workshops are listed below for each elementary school.
The four evening PAWS programs will be held at each school from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm on these dates:

Online Kindergarten Registration Process
Before you Begin
Quick Tips- Online Pre-Registration
Pre-registration is available for parents new to Greensburg Salem School District (who will create a new ParentVUE account) as well as current parents with an active ParentVUE account. This process pre-registers your student. Please attend your schools designated registration day to complete the process.
Collect Information
Please collect the following paperwork prior to starting the Online Pre-Registration process:
- One Proof of Residency (a deed, a lease, current utility bill, property tax bill, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, driver's license, or a Department of Transportation identification card)
- Student's proof of birth (birth certificate)
- A physical examination report completed within one year of school entry for grades K-5. Any students entering or returning to school in the United States must also furnish a physical examination done within one year.
- Proof of legal custody when applicable
- Immunization records
Pre-Registration Process
The pre-registration process is driven by a menu of seven content areas. The Previous and Save and Continue buttons are used to move from one content area to the next.
You may also use the left hand navigation menu to navigate between screens. Green checks are for completed content.
The system saves your data automatically as you move from screen to screen. You may log out of the system at any time and return to complete.
Fields marked by an asterisk are required, you cannot advance through the process unless you enter data in these fields.
Upon completing the data entry, you may review the information on the Review screen and make any necessary changes. You must complete pre-registration information for all your students prior to clicking on Submit.
Creating your ParentVUE Account
Create My ParentVUE Account
- In your web browser go to www.greensburgsalem.net > Click Enroll My Student
- If you have an existing Greensburg Salem ParentvUE account, enter your User Name and Password and skip to the next section (Introduction Screens).
- Click on I do not have a ParentVUE login.
- Read the Privacy Statement and click on I Accept.
- Enter your First and Last name, an email address (with confirmation) and the verification code. Then click on Continue to Step 3.
- Open the email sent by the system and click on the link to complete the account creation process.
- By default, your User ID is your email address. Enter a password of at least six characters and confirm it. Then click on Save and Continue.
- Important! You may choose to change the default User ID, but it must be unique across the district and may include numbers/symbols. If you receive an error during this step, try adding numbers/symbols to your User ID. Passwords may not contain symbols.
Registration Screens
Introduction Screens
- After you log in and choose a school year, click on Begin New Registration.
- Please read this first screen very carefully and make sure you have copies of all documentation specified. Then click on Continue.
- Enter your Electronic Signature and click on Save and Continue.
Family Screens
- Enter the student's home address, which must be an address within the Greensburg Salem School District attendance zone. If the address is valid, a green check appears next to the address.
- Enter the mailing address or select the Mail address is the same as... checkbox.
- Enter the home phone (primary phone for the family).
- Click on Edit. Update all the required fields for you, the registering parent.
- Optional: Click on Add New Parent/Guardian to enter an additional parent/guardian for the student. Update all the required fields for the additional Parent/Guardian.
- When complete, click on Save And Continue
Emergency Screens
At least one (1) Emergency Contact is required. This person may not be a parent/guardian entered in the previous step.
- Click on Add New Emergency Contact.
- Update all the required fields for the Emergency Contact.
- When complete, click on Save And Continue.
Student Screens
- Click on Add New Student to begin.
- Read and Acknowledge the Policy Statement (you must open to view and then check the box to agree)
- Enter the basic demographic information for your student. If the student was not born in the U.S. you will need to supply additional information.
- Click on Save And Continue to step through each data entry screen.
- After you step through all screens for your student, you are returned to the initial students' screen. If you have another student to register, click on Add New Student, otherwise click on Save and Continue.
Key Information Collected on Student Screens
- Pre-Kindergarten Experience- for Kindergarten registrations please provide the name of the pre-school your child attended (if applicable)
- Parent/Guardian Relationships- All checkboxes must be selected unless legal paperwork exists and is provided to the school during the face-to-face meeting.
- Health Information (Medications)- Frequency must be numeric, specify the number of times per day.
- Immunization- dates must be entered chronologically across the row and cannot be prior to the student DOB.
- Language Survey- if the answer to any of these questions is a langauge other than English, arrangements will be made to screen the student for the need for English Language Learner support.
Document Screens
You may upload an electronic copy of your student's birth certificate, but you must bring the original to the face-to-face meeting at the school.
- Click on Choose File.
- Locate the electronic copy on your computer. Select it and click on OK.
- Click on Upload. The document is attached to your pre-registration and may be reviewed at the school prior to the face-to-face meeting.
- Upload any additional documents to the appropriate box (preferred) otherwise, bring a copy with you on registration day.
Review Submit Screens
- Click on Review to view all data entered for the student. Scroll to view information for each section.
- Click on Edit to change information in a section.
- Click on Done to return to the screen to submit the registration.
- Click on Submit and then on OK to complete the pre-registration process for student(s).
- Click on Logout.
After Registering
Next Steps
- Follow up with the school for each child registered to schedule a face to face meeting. Be sure to bring all required documentation to this meeting. Your child cannot be enrolled until all paperwork is complete.
- Review the status of your child's enrollment in your ParentVUE account.
- Navigate to *****
- Enter your User Name and Password
- Click on the Status tab
General Registration
All enrollments are now through the Synergy Online Registration System. Paper copies of the application will no longer be accepted.
The following documents are needed to enroll your student:
- Enrollment forms (download forms from the column on right.)

If it is NOT possible for you to submit these forms electronically, please Central Office to make other arrangements to enroll your student.
