Threat Assessment
Pennsylvania law requires each Chief School administrator establishes a Threat Assessment Team for the assessment of and intervention with students whose behavior may indicate a threat to the safety of the student, other students, school employees, school facilities and the community.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) provides a model, procedures and guidelines based on Pennsylvania laws and established a standard of practice. The Greensburg Salem School District has established a District Threat Assessment Team and Building level teams and will provide annual training to all staff members in relation to their role in reporting threats. Students can report concerns of threatening behavior though Safe2Say or can report concerns directly to a staff member. Safe2Say is established under Act 44. Community members and parents can report concerns of threatening behavior directly to the building principals or a member of the threat assessment team.
